Dust Foam Suppression System on Sinter Plant
Corus have recently ordered a DustFoam suppression system covering part of their Sinter Plant at Port Talbot. The part of the plant treated is the sinter handling system comprising a number of belt conveyors transporting hot sinter. Dust is emitted as the sinter is transferred between conveyers.
The Enviroflo system applies Nalco Dust Foam PlusTM as a foam to six separate application points throughout the plant. Enviroflo’s scope of supply included all pumping equipment, a compressor package and foam generating equipment together with all pipework.
In order to prove the efficacy of the Dust Foam system for this application Enviroflo carried out extensive trials together with Corus at the Port Talbot plant.
Before an order could be placed Corus carried out a thorough evaluation covering Health and Safety, Quality, Environmental Policy, Finance and Reliability. Following this, Enviroflo Engineering have qualified to join the list of Corus Approved Suppliers.
